Default The File Or Directory Is Corrupted & Unreadable



I am getting this message on my hdd, plz advise ...what I can do now to save this folder ..??

did you try the obvious things like defrgmentation ?

This sounds bad... hopefully your HD is not giving up, could be some damaged sectors. If the defrag wont help, you could always try some data recovery tools...

i tried check disk, NOW the complete FOLDER is removed by the system,...I made a search, all files are found & are playable well but the system has put them in a separate folder (HIDDEN) called found.000.

OK, that's not so bad. You should run a hard disk life check program though because there's a good chance your HDD is going to go bust sometime soon.

if you were able to find them, just move them to another folder either through windows explorer or through the DOS prompt

but the seller won't recover the files, they will either just replace the drive or reformat it

AFTER retrieving his stuff I meant, I wouldn't be too keen on storing my stuff on a drive that might crap out anytime soon.
