Pretty sure this is legit, although I think there are better materials than mineral oil.

Oil cooled PCs have been done before, first time I've seen mineral oil used though.

yeah it should work just fine mineral oil in non-conductive so the electric parts shouldn't be adversely affected

Yes, mineral oil is excellent to use as it wont go off as quick as other oils do (you can use olive oil etc.. but the go rancid quickly). I've seen an article in a UK pc mag that shows a PC assembled in a plastic storage box and immersed in sunflower oil. The top is sealed bar the wires. You can then over clock the sucker. My mate and i used to use ice cubes in plastic bags...though it proved fatal for the poor Pentium 60 we were trying to overclock at the time

Sunflower oil and vegetable oil have been used numerous times before, I believe the logic behind this project is that mineral oil is transparent so it looks a whole lot cooler.

You can overclock a pc to 6ghz with liquid nitrogen.

You know, I've got loads of liquid nitrogen kicking around the garage, I've been wondering what to do with it!

Too warm when fresh, besides when you get enough to fill a tank, it will have changed colors and start to smell!
