i had 7 tabs open, most were lite sites like google.com

worst part about it was, even if i closed all but one tab, the memory wouldnt go back to my system, it would just keep climbing.

why i went back to 2.0.0.16.

Thats surprising. I haven't updated yet but that was one of the major issues with FF2 that was supposed to be fixed in FF3. Something about releasing the memory back to the system when it's not being used.

Yea, how long has it been? I've found that regular registry cleaning helps but nothing beats a fresh install once a year or so.
