help External Hard drive recovery

My ex-HDD has crashed (and has RAW files), but the data is both viewable and recoverable in certain programs. However, most freeware programs for hard disk recovery have data transfer limits for extracting files (64kb file size).
Can anyone recommend a good freeware (or otherwise) source, for a program that will enable me to to recover 20gb or so of data?

I have tried about 6 or 7 different ones from google search, and they all seem to have data transfer limits..

Thanks in Advance

That would be a no. Best thing to do is take out internal drive and add it as a slave to another machine. Also, the more you use the drive the less likely it is that you'll recover the data as you are writing over the sectors where it's stored.
