i usually use opera when browsing for adult material - it's much more secure. to get to the cache in opera, type "opera:about" - again, without the quotes. OR go to help and click about opera at the bottom of the list. 2 diff methods, same result. anyway, you will see the directory path you want on the page that comes up. i like operas cache better because it usually shows the file extension. flv files show a ".tmp" simply copy/paste them where ever and rename.

easy, easy, easy!

google is your friend!

Very good! Thanks!

One thing though. Looking through my FF cache, all files are just listed as files, with no extensions. That makes picking out videos and music a bit of guesswork. Unless there's some further FF trick.

not that i know of, although the size of the file might give you some idea on what it is. like i said, i use opera. more secure, easier to use, etc, etc...

I don't have any experience with opera, unfortunately.

I might. Currently, IE and FF do pretty much everything I need.

Yes, I did, Mick. And all my FF cache showed were generic files with no extensions.

That's okay, I have vid grabbers for FF, and IE for stuff FF can't grab.

hey, don't get me wrong. FF is great. i just upgraded to v 2.0.0.1 and am starting to try some plugins. but opera has features that kick butt, and grabbing stuff from the cache is soooo easy. plus ie has burned me one too many times for me get excited about the "new safer version 7".

With files displayed as Type, wmv files should show up near the end of the Temporary Internet Files, after the cookies.

Well, I have come across some streaming media that the site encodes, making it very hard to recover. Somewhere in this thread, we came across this problem, and discussed it.

Ironically, the files are indeed, in the cache, but not in a viewable format. This may be your case, too. If I ever figure out a solution, I'll post it.

In the meantime, if you post a link, I'll look at the vid, and see what it does for me.

Note: I have tried to gear this to novices.

One of the fun things we come across here in the forum, is embeded videos.

They're fun! Click one, and it plays right there in the post!

But what if we want to save it on our computer?

Sure, we could find some fancy software, or if we have FF, some extension that might do it, but there actually is an easy way, that doesn't require anything you don't already have. And the reason is... it has already been downloaded to your computer!!!

Now, before I continue, you will probably want to play the videos offline. Most of the embeded videos will be FLV files. Many media players, like Windows Media Player, do not play FLV files. If you don't have an FLV player, here's the one I use. It's freeware.

Hello,

I've downloaded the player correctly (my Media Player Classic icons for clips now have the FLV icon instead) but the clips never play.

My computer and graphics are card are ancient (bought in 1999)...is my computer too old to use the FLV player? Also, I can watch FLV clips using Media Player Classic, but I don't know how to change the brightness or color with that program...is there a way?

Thank you!

It's possible that your computer can't support it. You probably loaded FLVplayer_v0.0.5.exe

Try the earlier version, FLVplayer_v0.0.4.exe, and see what happens.

Here's the documentation for MPC. Hope this helps!
