When he played with Texas, he had a weekly show on the local sports radio station. He is one heck of a nice guy; very down to earth without a "big-league-itis" over blown ego. I'm glad he's back in the bigs and doing well.

Just what the hell did he have the Rangers working on in spring training? It certainly wasn't fundamentals. They are making mental errors that a little leaguer wouldn't make. They are throwing to the wrong base, overthrowing the cutoff man, not covering second when a runner steals, lobbing balls in from the outfield allowing runners to advance.

I keep seeing the scene from "Bull Durham":

Skip: You guys. You lollygag the ball around the infield. You lollygag your way down to first. You lollygag in and out of the dugout. You know what that makes you? Larry!
Larry: Lollygaggers!
Skip: Lollygaggers.

He was supposedly taken aside before the start of their current road trip and told if things didn't improve, there would be changes. A think a four game sweep by Boston when they had leads in the late innings qualifys as a "non improvement". Hopefully, the change will be him gone. It may already be too late to salvege this season

They have Nolan Ryan as club president, but everything was already in place when he took the position. It's time for him to put his stamp on this sorry organization in the form of western boots up some asses.
