And Harpoon: when Hitler created a war on two fronts, that's one of the reasons he lost, but we're luck we didn't find out about the alternative.

I read his ultimate plan was to come and try and defeat us (america). before we got too strong.. But it didnt play out like that.. He viewed the peoples that left UK as the true "master race" because they had the gumption to up and leave a forge a new society... He viewed that as strength.. I saw this on discovery channel.. some kind of journal he wrote or something...

On the western front, it is really is the Russians that ground the Germans into the ground. They sustained and inflicted the most number of casualties in pushing the German's back to Berlin. The other Western Allies were instrumental in opening the second front, but its the Russian's that did most of the heavy work.

those people would be correct harp......with the turning point of WW2 coming at stalingrad......never mind the discovery channell ?? may i recomend this book.....

they fought so we could have the freedom to view it.....except thats not what they were told at the time

the germans had nuclear power by 1944, theoretically they could build nukes if they could obtain enough uranium or platonium. they even had rockets that could in theorie reach new york.

as a last ditch effort they sent 'dirty' uranium(uranium oxide) to japan on a U-Boat, the japenese used balloons to carry payloads to canada and the US west coast. the balloons where carried in the jet stream to the US.

the U boat was days away from japan when the war ended and was told to surrender, the captain nearly did not surrender but in the end he did.

just imagine what the world would be like if america and britain was nuked by the germans...

We may have all been speaking German... Although the effects of a dirty bomb would take a while to show... Its not like a Nuke.. Its more like a radiation contamination..
