I'm posting this in serious discussion for a reason.

I just wanted to make the point that we are all God's children, and as people, one of the highest levels of being we can achieve comes when we show compassion and love.

And so the bile that has been poured out in the wake of this man's death really saddens me, makes me feel humanity is not collectively well.

I present only this simple argument for why compassion should be shown to all, ALL who pass. God loves all souls equally. God is saddened by the loss of any soul and wants them all to come home. I feel Michael will go home to God, and embrace Jesus. But remember, your soul is no more or less valuable than any other, and no matter what me may feel about any person here on Earth, that constant holds. Any saint, Mother Teresa, your ancestors, good men, petty criminals, murderers, Adolf Hitler, they all have the same value as souls. Souls move on when the body dies. And so if you are a Christian, you should honor your God and show respect for all who pass.

I have at times in life failed in this regard myself, being human, and so just a reminder and gentle request:

If you cannot speak kindly of him, speak nothing at this time.

Consider to, those who grieve him deserve this moment to come to grips with their feelings.

I am not writing this as a die hard fan. I find his death untimely and shocking, but I was only a casual admirer. Certainly, when I was in middle school his Thriller album was a cultural milestone, but I had little artistic or emotional involvement with his works after that.

I'm just writing this is defense of compassion and respect for the dead.

I will not speak more of this. I know the arguments that will follow this posting and I know I could derail many of them now if I wrote at length about each. But...such would be out of place for this concept I share, and the thoughts I am feeling. Take this as you will.

The jokes were coming into my fone by 11.45pm last night I've had about 10 so far it doesn't take them long

On a more serious note he was a really clever guy were his music was concerned and no one will ever come close to beating his thriller album or video

I don't believe in your, his, or anyone elses god so please don't label me as a child of your particular deity.
Nor do I need you to be my moral compass, empathy coach, or compassion regulator.

First of all, there is no God. I will not show respect to a dead person just because of some God or Jesus or whateverthefuck. I will show him respect because i have conscience and i'm a moral person.
Of course i do not like it when anyone dies, but what the fuck am i supposed to do now? Cry? Fuck that. I have never even seen that guy in person.

Well there's a huge, sweeping generalisation.
How would you suggest I get a life?
Apart from the whole career, having a child, being in a stable, loving relationship and a blooming social circle? Apart from the team sports and the mountain biking, the archery and dancing? I'm genuinely interested in what I need to do in order to have "a life"

i dont think ive seen a post like this from joey before. he isnt as crazy/unstable as he makes out

i'm not a god following man, so will not comment on that side of the argument, but i do agree with Elviye, i doubt any family memebers frequent forums, but im sure they will be fully aware of the jokes going round and at a time like this for them it is deeply upsetting.
