One thing about "racism" I find very funny and silly is when white people complain about "reverse-racism" and "political correctness" in the last 8/9 years or so now. Given the long history of injustice of blacks in America and yet the recent trend of PC in public is irritating some white people.

I also see some argue that blacks shouldn't bitch about slavery anymore or unjust laws that belittle a race of people in the past because they feel they should NOT be responsible for their ancestors' actions. YET they prefer to follow those old constitutions that were made decades/centuries ago. There's a lot of contradictory to that belief.

With that said, I'm a pretty chill out guy, usually don't let this kind of stuff in the movies/media bother me. Haven't had any degrading encounters since junior high and high school though.

However, I think the title should say "Racism in America will NEVER die. We're all losers of it."

I'll agree that racism will never be a thing of the past, but I put that down to people like Shotgun Styles.
Why should studios do what YOU want, where is the huge backing of other black people moaning about it? If there is such a group, it's a poor one.
It's not the remit of the studios to appease blacks, they're there to make money however they see fit.

You're right but you're placing too much hope on the actors. Remember Will Smith is an actor, he's not the man you see in his movies, the hero, the one who makes sacrifices for a just cause. He's a capitalist out to make money on with his job. And he does just that, without stealing it from anyone else, so it's respectable even if he doesn't stand out to fight for civil rights past the minimum that will keep him "pleasable" with his public.
Another example is: Shwarzenegger is not terminator! He's a bodybuilder who happen to have a good looking smile and an intense look, but that's all... I won't let him administer my stable, less of everything one of the most rich regions of the world. Do you think people voted for the man or for his image?

I expect the white establishment to do what it does, while at every turn claiming (as Lance and Anthem do on this board) that racism is a thing of the past.

And while I agree with you on your argument, we should keep the debate on the subject and not on board members. Me too was a target for some controversial ideas I expressed, but as I thought that was unfair to me, it's unfair now to point finger to them, too (and I had some very heated exchanges with them both, for sure)

First off, there are no "Major Studio" releases anymore! All movies are made by "Production Companies". The studios give these houses big allowances, and they make the movies with the studios looking over their shoulders.

how many white people complained? not 1....

perhaps these films are casting the right actor / actress regardless of colour. which is how it should be, you dont cast a crap asian actor in a blockbuster because there arent enough asain people cast, thats just stupid.

our local police does it here, they recruit specifically for asian people to join the police. this is BLATANT racism towards white people,

people should be chosen for their abilities and skills not their colour. but unfortunately people like styles will pull the race card ignoring this obvious fact.
