Id just like to observe that racism may be rampant in the U.S by dint of it being predominantly Christian. Christian ethic always suggested white Europeans were meant to be the top of the tree, the rest made to work for the white populations.

Although there is equality of sorts now Christianity and particular creationism denies Darwinian evolution. From such studies we can determine that there is no such thing as race. We are all the same with minor, regional, necessarily cosmetic changes of adaptation. Evolution demonstrates we are made of the same stuff.

Until people grasp that in full (and deny their religious orders as impractical in 200

there will always be racism. It's one of the multiple reasons I detest religion (dont worry thats all I have to say on that subject)

I don't think that's a pertinent argument. People are racists because humans have an inherent tendency to be sceptical of people who are not like them. So in an ethnically heterogenous society, there is bound to be a certain amount of racism. To my best knowledge, religions such as islam, catholicism or the protestant strains of christianism do not include any reflection of race at all. They are being used and have been used as an excuse for racism, but then again there's probably no evil in the world that at least some people have tried to justify with religion. But the same holds true for communism and national socialism (both were sort of ersatz religions after all).

I disagree. It is entirely pertinent. Heres how:

Our cultural evolution has welll outrun our physical evolution. We are in an unusual position in that we can consider actions and their consequences. Undoubtedly, we are hard wired to be wary of people in the next valley but noticeably, we tended to 'marry' outside our own group. Yes it is evolutionarily positive to distrust any stranger but we have overcome that with knowledge and ethics.

It makes good evolutionary sense for males to rape any female they encounter (if there is no compliance) but we already know it is abhorrent and disgusting to treat another human like that.

It may be hard wired but theres no reason why we cannot, have not, reprogrammed ourselves to behave in a moral and ethical fashion.

Unfortunately where religion is supposed to unite us in our fear of the Gods it has proven to be the most divisive human catastrophe ever invented.

If we can see passed that and accept that we have cosmetic differences that do not require judgement, then we might get to modernity.

Pointedly, Darwinism teaches that acceptance, not the sense of "them" and "us" by explaining that "race" is nothing more than a human construct, probably revived in Victorian times but none the less irrelevant to any modern intelligent person.

Is religion really that racially divisive in the greater scheme of things? After all you have quite an ethnic variety of christians these days, a similar variety for muslims, hell, there's even lots of black jews. Religion can be used to incite hate against members of other cults, but I still don't see a particular connection to racism.
