The Edison Chen photo scandal is a media scandal in early 2008 involving Hong Kong actor Edison Chen Kwoon-hei and various actresses, including Gillian Chung Yan-tung, Bobo Chan Man-woon, and Cecilia Cheung Pak-zhi.

I have all the pics and info on this scandal. I was going to post it a few weeks ago but I haven't really noticed any interest in Hong Kong entertainers on AS. Basically, Edison Chen has been one of the new young actors in Hong Kong for the past few years and he has a reputation as a womanizer. The story broke a month or so ago when Chen stupidly brought his pink laptop in to a local shop to have it repaired. There were a few thousand of his "personal" photos on the laptop and they "somehow" managed to make their way out on to the Internet.

The scandal has not only been because of the nature of the photos and the people involved but because of the photos being released on the 'net. The police in Hong Kong have been raiding homes of people suspected of downloading and/or sharing the photos over the 'net. The media has blasted the police brutality as well as coming down hard on the female stars who allowed themselves to be photographed in such "disgraceful" circumstances.

Although no one in the Hong Kong media has been defending Edison Chen's actions, he does seem to have more moral support from the media than do the female actresses. After all, he got them to do things to him and also got them to do it on film. Also, since the photos were stolen from Chen's pink laptop, he is seen as the one victim in the whole affair.

There's even been a whisper campaign going around lately that the great Jackie Chan might wind up involved because in one of the film clips it appears as though Jackie might be in the room when some of the sexy fun and games is taking place because someone is apparently talking to him off camera. But so far this element has been more rumour than fact.

If anyone is interested, just look up "Edison Chen scandal" on Google. It's all pretty well documented.

Well, that's my two cents on the matter...

yeah pics do look good I would love to see them all. Man it must suck to live under such harsh censorship to the point where a few pics like these can ruin a career.

The Triads are involved because the father of Celicia Cheung, one of the women in these photos, is in the Triads. Its been rumored that her marriage with another HK star, Nicolas Tse, will soon end because of these photos even though they were recently married and had a kid.
