So...
so....

is she going to run for President? Or does she just want to catch up on her sharp-shooting?

She claims to be going against the grain, against politics as usual. But even many Republicans have said this was a very bad move if she has future political aspirations.

Well since like most drinkers of Palin Hator-Aid you cant even get the quote right, so lets see the actual quote.

In her Sept. 11 interview with ABC's Charlie Gibson, Sarah Palin had this to say about Russia: "They're our next-door neighbors, and you can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska, from an island in Alaska."

Russia and Alaska are divided by the Bering Strait, which is about 55 miles at its narrowest point. In the middle of the Bering Strait are two small, sparsely populated islands: Big Diomede, which sits in Russian territory, and Little Diomede, which is part of the United States. At their closest, these two islands are a little less than two and a half miles apart, which means that, on a clear day, you can definitely see one from the other. The Diomede Islands are often blanketed by persistent fog, which makes visibility difficult. On a clear day, though, a person standing at sea level can see a little less than three miles across the ocean. You can see farther if you go higher—at the highest altitude on Little Diomede (919 feet), you can see for about 37 miles. (Between mid-December and mid-June, when the water between the two islands freezes, an intrepid explorer can just walk from one to the other.

Now to be truthful Biden can't see Russia from his house, and he never said that he could. Of course neither did Palin, but lets look at some of the things he has said.

--While attending the Gridiron Club dinner in Washington, an annual event where powerful politicians and media elite get a chance to cozy up to one another, Biden told his dinner mates about the existence of a secret bunker under the old U.S. Naval Observatory, which is now the home of the vice president.
The bunker is believed to be the secure, undisclosed location former Vice President Dick Cheney remained under protection in secret after the 9/11 attacks.

--"Look, John's last-minute economic plan does nothing to tackle the number-one job facing the middle class, and it happens to be, as Barack says, a three-letter word: jobs. J-O-B-S, jobs." --Joe Biden.
In a truly amazing discovery a group of first graders discovered that J-O-B-S was actually a four-letter word.

--"When the stock market crashed, Franklin D. Roosevelt got on the television and didn't just talk about the, you know, the princes of greed. He said, 'Look, here's what happened." –Joe Biden.
Apparently unaware that Herbert Hoover — not Franklin D. Roosevelt — was president in 1929. And that even with the T.V. being invented in 1928, and there was a few experimental models out in 1929, the T.V. was not truely commercially available to the public in the U.S. till the 1930's.

--"Stand up, Chuck, let 'em see ya." –-Joe Biden, to Missouri state Sen. Chuck Graham, who is in a wheelchair, Columbia, Missouri, Sept. 12, 2008

--Biden said he was running for president — not vice president — during a Sept. 1, 2008, roundtable discussion in Scranton, Pa. While on the Obama/Biden Campaign trail.
“Today is the moment for me as a United States senator running for president to put aside the national politics and focus on what’s happening down there,” Biden said.

--During a Feb. 25, 2009, interview on CBS' "Early Show," Biden encouraged viewers to visit a government-run Web site that tracks stimulus spending. When asked for the site's web address, Biden could not remember the site's "number."

--On Inauguration Day, Jan. 20 2009, "Jill and I had the great honor of standing on that stage, looking across at one of the great justices, Justice Stewart." Justice John Paul Stevens -- not Stewart -- swore Biden in as vice president.

--"Hillary Clinton is as qualified or more qualified than I am to be vice president of the United States of America. Quite frankly, it might have been a better pick than me." --Joe Biden, speaking at a town hall meeting in Nashua, New Hampshire

--Biden confused army brigades with battalions when speaking about Obama's plan for sending troops to Afghanistan.

--During his first campaign rally with Obama as his vice presidential running mate on Aug. 23, 2008, Biden introduced Obama by saying, "A man I'm proud to call my friend. A man who will be the next President of the United States, --Barack America!"

--Jan. 31, 2007 -- the day Biden announced his presidential bid -- the Delaware Senator was roundly criticized for calling Obama "the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that's a storybook, man."

--April 30, 2009 --"I would tell members of my family, and I have, I wouldn't go anywhere in confined places right now. It's not that it's going to Mexico, it's that you are in a confined aircraft. When one person sneezes, it goes everywhere through the aircraft. That's me.
Biden, when asked on NBC's Today Show what he would tell his relatives if they wanted to fly to Mexico next week. White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs later commented: "If people felt unduly alarmed for whatever reason, we would certainly apologize for that."

Actually the problem wasn't with what she said it was with the question she was responding too.

The interview with Katie Couric she said this:

COURIC: You've cited Alaska's proximity to Russia as part of your foreign policy experience. What did you mean by that?

PALIN: That Alaska has a very narrow maritime border between a foreign country, Russia, and on our other side, the land-- boundary that we have with-- Canada. It-- it's funny that a comment like that was-- kind of made to-- cari-- I don't know, you know? Reporters--

COURIC: Mock?

PALIN: Yeah, mocked, I guess that's the word, yeah.

COURIC: Explain to me why that enhances your foreign policy credentials.

PALIN: Well, it certainly does because our-- our next door neighbors are foreign countries. They're in the state that I am the executive of. And there in Russia--

COURIC: Have you ever been involved with any negotiations, for example, with the Russians?

PALIN: We have trade missions back and forth. We-- we do-- it's very important when you consider even national security issues with Russia as Putin rears his head and comes into the air space of the United States of America, where-- where do they go? It's Alaska. It's just right over the border. It is-- from Alaska that we send those out to make sure that an eye is being kept on this very powerful nation, Russia, because they are right there. They are right next to-- to our state.

In the interview with Gibson she said this

Then the quote

That was the problem.

the incorrect quote comes for SNL

Check out the Vanity Fair Article on Sarah Palin. It's a bit long but provides a bit of background on the US's fave "Hockey Mom"

So your defending this quote using Katie Couric and Saturday Night Live. The Katie Couric that played the prison guard in "Austin Powers in Goldmember" and SNL.

I am so ashamed of myself, all this time wasted. Studying a nominee's past, their voting record and actually learning about the person im going to vote for. When it was so simple I'm so glad you got me straight and next time I will be ready to vote properly.

Naa i met the incorrect quote the one saying she can see Russia from her house came from SNL.

I am simply putting the quote that you stated in better reference. You seem to imply that people came to the wrong conclusion about Sarah Palin b/c of her being miss-quoted.

Ok I get it now she says "They're our next-door neighbors, and you can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska, from an island in Alaska.". Then thru a Katie Couric interview (still loved her goldmember) and SNL. People can now say that she said " I can see Russia from my house.". But she wasn't misquoted.

It's kind of like Obama saying "I am a Christian, and I have been sworn in on a bible, and I have lead the Pledge of Alligance in the Senate, even though I haven't been there lately." Then through a interview with George Stephanopoulos he said "my Muslim faith." and Mr. Stephanopoulos interrupted with, "Christian faith." "My Christian faith," Mr. Obama replied quickly. Then a few pictures of him in a Muslim outfit. Where he visiting Kenya wearing traditional Kenyan robes. To people saying that "Obama is a Muslim".

I get it now all this time I thought that Palin was just being misquoted but she really did say "I can see Russia from my house". And all this time I thought Obama was a Christian when he really is a Muslim.

Again thanks for getting me straight on this.
