I'm sure some of you remember my huge rant about this when Hancock came out last summer. I was really bent about it, and many of you said it was all in my head.

Hollywood is racist as hell when it comes to Black men with white women, but super liberal when it comes to Black women with white men.

surely the point is whats written in the article, that theres a percieved problem in the US. The recent election shows that the US might not have the major race hang-ups it used to have but one of the studies is going to have to man up and risk several million dollars and its reputation to be the first one to break that barrier.

Nobody wants to risk that sort of money on the possibilty they may be wrong when theres so many other ways for a movie to fail already?

I don't see a barrier per say... Wesley Snipes did Jungle Fever almost 20 years ago. So what. People so inclined won't go, and... what.. that makes white men insecure somehow?

That's quite a leap from what sells movies to the insecurities of all white men, and frankly every bit as racist as the notion that some people wouldn't see a movie because a black dude makes out with a white girl.

I like that black guys take some of the fat white girls off the market. Less pressure on the rest of us to bang those hogs.

There is no proof. "Save the Last Dance" was a huge independent hit. If the studios had backed it with bankable stars (Julia Stiles was an unknown then), it could have been even bigger.

This mythology that Hollywood claims about how you can't sell a movie with BM/WF is false. Will Smith is the most bankable star in America, and if Hitch had starred Charleze Theron it would have still been a hit.

I know for a fact that much of the insecurity felt by white men is the direct result of the things white women say about Black men. Most white women will never admit interest in Black men to a potential white suitor. He becomes comfortable in this lie. But should the relationship end he may find her dating a Black man and his image of her is shattered. He then becomes suspicious of all white women when they claim no interest in Black men.

I've seen this happen way too many times to dismiss the phenomena as an anomalous.

I am not sure how much of that is racial and how much is cultural. White men have been emasculated almost beyond recognition. Black men seem to have maintained or increased the more masculine dominant role, albeit sometimes WAY over the top with the bitches and ho's crap. To me that makes black men more manly, less effeminate, and subsequently more attractive to women as men not necessarily just as black men.

IMHO, if there is an answer to your question it lies somewhere in the feminization of white men...

I have heard this theory before. From, of all people, Rush Limbaugh. According to him it's all the fault of an effiminate male domination in Hollywood, and the influence of feminists on the media as a whole.

For the record I happen to think that Hollywood is FAR more racist than the average American. Iowa single single handedly made Obama's presidency possible. That is a state with almost no Black people in it. I don't buy America as an inherently racist country at all. I think there are elements in our media who foster racism for their own purposes.
