Problem is he's fueling the machine not hindering it. I mean, a blantant liar, one of the most corrupted individuals of our times gets away with a lie such as the Iraq WMD, in front of a United Nation full audition, then 5 years later he endorses a presidential candidate... SUCCESSFULLY!!

No accountability? Ok, he's rich, he's powerful, shit happens.

But should we keep listening the worst of the worst?

Point being is, over here you follow orders... He wont be ever held accountable for information that he delivered via a presentation and may have believed to be true at the time.

His bowing out in the second term told me he wanted to get away from the snakes..

Lying requires intent. Can you PROVE that Powell knew the intelligence was false?

His statement was an unsupported accusation that led to a war that is still ongoing and ha caused more than a million civilian deaths, and his statement was false. Those are the facts.

Could he PROVE the intelligence was true, before speaking?

Should he have CHECKED before supporting that claim?

Sorry, I'm not fond of soliders who "were just following orders". Expecially at his level, he should have had greater insight.

A million civilian deaths? Please...don't throw exaggerations around like that just for shock value. Try using facts.

This site (http://www.iraqbodycount.org/) is hardly a right wing conservative site and yet they only show the civilian deaths to be between 88K and 96K. But by all means, don't let facts get in the way.

Listen, the man knew that there weren't weapons of mass destruction in the way they were pushing it to the people who believed every single word they were shoveling, you knew they wanted to get in there no matter what. It was embarrassing seeing Powell there pleading the case.

The endorsement is validation on some level. You do wish more generals or Men of Honor would say something when they were there, other generals and military men and or women can't and don't speak up cause they can't. They leave or they are pushed out diplomatically. But WE say that they should speak up to sound like WE would do it if we were in their position and that's not the way anything is done and we're full of shit. That's not real thinking.

He was ushered politely out of the White House cause he did have his misgivings and was speaking his mind in their inner circle. He got an out then and here we are. He would be a better Secretary of Defense than anybody right now. If McCain was liked by voters or Conservatives 8 years ago, Powell would have been in that position. Things could have been - could have been - completely different after 911 and Iraq would not have been a target.

With all these polls saying that Obama is going to win. Can you imagine what might happen if McCain wins. Conspiracy theories, riots and law suits for months.

I am not sure how exactly they call the election. I know that the media uses exit polling, which is not accurate. But i think that the individual towns call the election only after counting part of the votes. I don't understand when and how they start counting votes that come in over seas and come in early.

They can call it for one guy on the first day and call it the other days later.

Plus besides the ACCORN stuff their is good fight to be made about students voting and in what state they should. How homeless people should be counted.

I don't believe a thing until it's finally over. After what happened in the 2000, there should have been a revolution in this country to get the process cleaned up and fixed in a permanent way to not shame us as that election did.

But that shows the passivity of the people. There's an inertia that shames us even more because that election made us look like a high end 3rd World nations election mess.

it might work both ways. Some people who will end up not voting at all or for McCain will declare their intention to vote for Obama in a poll because they think it's the PC thing to say. Others will tell pollsters that they want to vote for McCain because they are a bit embarrassed that they have fallen for Obama's charisma and end up voting for Obama after all.

At any rate, I think this time it is more likely than ever that a candidate who wins less votes than his opponent overall still wins the majority in the electoral college. Obama is bound to win landslide-style in a lot of states, but if McCain manages to win over a few of the big ones in a last-gasp-comeback, that might be just enough.

I would be afraid to put a McCain sign in my yard because of the radical liberals.

In other areas you'd get an earful from the radical conservatives if you put up an Obama sign.
