| Death Race ![]() It is what it is Can't compare to the original by Corman so I won't.The movie is fast paced, mixing prison scenes with racing scenes. The racing scenes are frenetic...at times the cars look similar so it was difficult to see who was doing what to who. I loved the new soundtrack, there were a few minor fight scenes and of course loud, fast racing with lots of gunfire and neato/keeno deaths. I give it 2.5 out of 5.Would have got as high as 3.5 or 4, if I actually cared about what was going on |

| Quantum of Solace ![]() I love the 2 latest Bonds with Daniel Craig.I read the books as a lad and in my opinion, this returns the franchise back to the intended ideas of the author, Ian Fleming. The only gadgets you'll see here are gps cell phones and real guns.Like Casino Royale, it's almost all action a la the Bourne movies...with the occasional pitstop for James to wear a tux and shmooze with the ladies. What I liked most was his ability to improvise in almost any situation...rather than pulling out his gold plated lighter that shoots lasers and has 100 meters of grappling wire complete with hook My only criticism was that the editing was too fast paced, too many cuts.At times it was hard for me to keep up with what had just happened. And like Casino Royale, the script won't hold your hand either. I give this 4 M's out of 5 |

| I agree. Both the Bond franchise and Batman have been saved by taking a serious approach.

| Let it snow! Yeah, right. ![]() | Good point! The original Fleming Bond novels were true spy stories. The Roger Moore movies were good, but had more of a satyrical/farcical flavor. Later Bonds kept to that formula. Craig brings Bond back closer to Fleming's original concept. Of course, I loved Connery's portrayl! |
