x-Files The Movie

This movie is just about to come to theatres here. My question is do I have to have seen the whole series before I see the movie. Are there parts of the movie that link back to the series. I did watch parts of the series but stop sometime toward the end and didn't see the final episode.

Opinions?

you have to have lost the will to live to see the movie.

Unbelievably bad, and pissed me off, because I really liked the series.

No, you needn't have watched series to understand the movie-- but I'd recommend that you pass . . . rent the DVDs of the series. . . way, way better.

It came and went very quickly at theaters here in the states - that should tell you something.

Good to see them both and another member of the cast briefly... but there wasn't a need for it. The first movie was something big and it stood alone. The show is done and done forever, this has nothing to do with a continuation.

This one is nothing but an episode of the show on the big screen and, yup, it left the movie palaces fast for a reason. They could have easily made a tv movie out of it.

That be true. I watched this at the weekend and it was a long tv episode nothing more.
