I'm not sure why I'm thinking it's Lee, though. It'd be hard to get it past his old man without him noticing, but then again, it just seems like the obvious choice.

There could've been a switch before the pilot miniseries. You know, he was avoiding his father up until then. If I remember correctly, Lee took off after the death of his brother. He only came back to "honor" his father during the decommissioning of the Galactica. He didn't see Starbuck for a while after his brother's death as well, so she would've been completely clueless to the switch. There's no way it could've happened when they were still together as a family.
