the noise your hearing is from the a/c compressor hub bearing & clutch, it's failing! so heres the deal, since you engine has only 1 fan belt (serpentine belt) you need to get this to a pro mech. as soon as possible! it's not just that the a/c will stop working but also when the hub bearing fails completly the belt will jump and come off IE: no alternator function, no water pump function, no power steering. now heres the reason i say to get it to a pro., there is a small chance the noise your hearing is only the clutch dragging, in which case it's an easy repair (only resetting the clutch's air gap) but this is not a job for a amatuer as special tools are required.
